CODEGIRL Movie!

The Young Women in Computing Program at NMSU is hosting the exclusive premiere of CODEGIRL on Nov 5, 2015 from 5:30 pm to 7:20 pm! Google's Made with Code initiative is committed to inspiring more girls to try coding. I'm excited to share with you MWC's latest project that reinforces this mission. We’re supporting renowned documentary filmmaker, Lesley Chilcott, on her next film, CODEGIRL, focusing on girls in Computer Science. CODEGIRL follows on the heels of Chilcott’s award winning, high impact documentaries, like Waiting for Superman.

Lesley’s film will be available for free on YouTube, before its big theatrical debut in the weeks that follow. This year, 5,000 girls from 60 countries participated in the Global Technovation Challenge. Their task? Create an app to tackle a problem in their community - all from the ground up. This is their story. CODEGIRL.
